Contact Form Management Field Documentation

Introduction

Group Package 1 websites contain a mix of default verbiage and imagery, with your group's details. This is managed for you by Scouts Online. There is no ability change the settings.

If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

Contact Form Management gives you the ability to create your own contact forms to use in any Contact Form module.

Your website package level does not include this feature. If you'd like to upgrade to a higher package level, please contact us.

User-defable Contact Forms,created in Contact Form Management, include lots of field types to control the details entered by the website visitor.

Field Types

The following panels show details of each field type. Click on a panel to see how to configure the field type.

Single Line Text Field
Single Line Text Field

This field type can be used to capture text details.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • Width to make the field smaller
  • The Form Submitter 'First Name' and/or 'Surname' fields should ticked if the field is the name of the person filling in the form
  • The Applicants Name should be ticked in the field is the name of the person applying to join
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Multi-Line Text Field
Multi-Line Text Field

This field type can be used to capture text details in a block (E.g. an address).

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • Width to make the field smaller
  • Height sets the height of the text field
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Drop Down List Selection
Drop Down List Selection

This field type displays a list for the website visitor to select from.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • The Options List holds the information shown in the list. See Contact Form
  • Tick Form Recipient if the user selected should receive a copy of the form email
  • Tick Move Section if the value selected is a 'Section' within your contact form
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Multiple Choice
Multiple Choice

This field type displays a list of tick boxes to select one.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • The Options List holds the information shown in the list. See Contact Form
  • Tick Form Recipient if the user selected should receive a copy of the form email
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Multi-Select List
Multi-Select List

This field type displays a list of tick boxes to select one or many.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • The Options List holds the information shown in the list. See Contact Form
  • Tick Form Recipient if the users selected should receive a copy of the form email
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Email Address
Email Address

This field type can be used to capture an email address.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • Width to make the field smaller
  • The Form Submitter 'First Name' and/or 'Surname' fields should ticked if the field is the name of the person filling in the form
  • Tick Form Recipient if the user selected should receive a copy of the form email
  • Tick Verify Email if you want to check the website visitor's identity. It will display a Verify Email Address button for the visitor to click and receive a code in an email to enter
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Date
Date

This field type can be used to capture a date.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

This field type can be used to capture a date and time.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • The Column No. to position the field in
  • Mandatory Field to force the website visitor to complete this field

Column Width Text Label

This field type displays a paragraph of text across the width of the column.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Field Name to display next to the field
  • Text to display
  • The Column No. to position the field in

This field type displays a field name, which can be left blank, and text in place of a details field.

This field type includes the following settings:

  • Text to display

Spacer
Spacer

This field displays a blank line to separate the fields above and below.

This field type includes the Column No. to position the field.

Options List Types

The 'Drop Down List Selection', 'Multiple Choice' and 'Multi-Select List' field types include pre-populated lists, based on your website or Scouting information.

The options list types below are those that are applicable for GroupDistrict County websites.

Click on a panel to see how the option list type works.

Manually Created List
Manually Created List

This options list type displays a manually created list of options.

To setup a list, follow these steps:

  • If you want to base your list on one of the other Options List, select that Options List type and then re-select 'Manually Created List'. Click Clear List to remove the settings.
  • Add text in the Name
  • A Value is only required if you are using the Move Section feature to move to a form section based on the option selected
  • Tick the Correct field is you are creating a quiz, and that line is the correct answer to the question
  • Use the Plus button to add more option lines
  • Use the Minus button to delete an option line
  • Use the Up and Down buttons to move option lines up and down

List of Districts
List of Districts

This options list type displays a list of Districts in your Scout County.

This options list type displays a list of Districts in your Scout County.

The selected District's Lead Volunteer will also receive a copy of the resulting form email.

This options list type displays a list of Groups in your District County.
