Scout Report September 2018

Well this has been another good year, which has gone fast, and I am pleased to say that the Scout Group has had another successful and busy year with good attendance on Troop nights overall.

During the year, the Troop has taken part in several camps including Belchamps and Thriftwood. They took part in a variety of activities including PAW Activity Weekend culminating in very enjoyable summer camp on the South Downs.  PAW was successful this year with us getting first place in the Camping Competition, so more practice this year so we can do better in the other sections so we can start bring home the winner’s trophy again.

During this year we will be concentrating on badge work with the aim of completing some more of the Challenge badges and hopefully starting to achieve some Gold Scout Awards for the new members of the Troop that have joined us this year.

This year we have put sailing back on the agenda, and have been on the water more times this year than we have the last three years put together.  We hope to get some more sailing completed  before the weather inhibits us.

I am looking forward to next year to continue with the good work we have started andcan only do this with the continued support of my Leaders and Young Leaders, as without their help Troop nights would not be successful as they are, to make Troop nights both educational and enjoyable for all.
